Staging this house by the lake was such a passion-driven project for me. I really wanted to showcase the cozy cottage feel of the natural wooden beam ceilings and hardwood floors while bringing a touch of glamour with faux furs and chic accent pieces. Combining two very different styles will not only give your space dimension and personality but will also demonstrate the versatility of the home for potential buyers.

Styling Country Chic with Modern Accents

The living room has large bay windows, wood beams running across high vaulted ceilings, and a stunning brick fireplace. I definitely had an easy canvas to work with. To contrast the heaviness of the wood and brick, I’d chosen a colour scheme of buttery creams, soft greys, and shades of blue, which evidently reminded me of the lake nearby. Conitnuing with the colour
scheme and style, I selected a timeless ceiling fixture above the dining room table and added some table decor to match. Here is the final result!

Cozy, Yet Glamorous

The family room and kitchen are the rooms most families spend the majority of their time in. For that reason, I wanted to create a more relaxed atmosphere compared to the living/dining area, yet still maintain some glamour and cohesiveness throughout the main floor. In order to do this, I maintained a similar colour scheme of blues, greys, and creams.

Pairing Classic with Modern

The master bedroom is sophisticated, yet enchanting. I kept it classic with hotel inspired bedding and added some fur cushions for some fun. White nightstands with dark hardware added a unique country feel while the upholstered headboard, glass table lamps, and mirrored accents added a modern touch to the traditional. Voila! Here is the finished product!
